For more than a decade, there has been a low hum in the background of every healthcare stakeholder’s mind tied to value-based care (VBC). While this low hum has turned into a blasting horn for many who have chosen to dive into the deep end, for others this low hum has remained. As health systems face pressures on many fronts, this low hum is likely to become a blasting horn for most. However, finding success is not guaranteed. In this session, we will explore the pressures facing those in the healthcare market, how true VBC can alleviate some of the challenges, and what is needed to get healthcare organizations to that point. We will specifically analyze the physician enterprise, considering key changes necessary for performance improvement.
Learning Objectives:
Survey the current healthcare market realities, including financial pressures and what is truly occurring with respect to VBC
Compare organizations that have already implemented VBC and their results and those that have continued to live with the “low hum”
Examine the physician enterprise, and how a handful of areas with tangible results can be a catalyst for success in the VBC realm
