The rising costs of running medical practices due to inflationary pressure threaten the ability to deliver quality care, forcing medical practices to find new ways to maintain the margin. Much of the increased costs are realized in the medical supply budget. Group Purchasing Organizations mitigate price inflation and support cost-reduction efforts. Recent and evolving changes in the GPO landscape significantly impact MGMA members’ ability to achieve cost reductions.
