David Masters is a Senior Vice President with Kaufman Hall and a member of the firm’s Physician Advisory Practice, an integral part of the Strategic and Financial Planning practice. He assists hospitals and health systems across the country with physician performance optimization, clinical and physician alignment strategies, and comprehensive planning for academic physician enterprises and physician affiliates. Mr. Masters has more than 30 years of experience in physician practice management. His areas of expertise include physician practice alignment and profitability improvement, physician compensation, and organizational structure. During his tenure at Kaufman Hall, Mr. Masters has been a trusted advisor to physician practice clients at different types of clients from Rural providers to large mufti-state health system practices and large Academic Medical Centers.
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Mr. Masters was a Senior Director, Physician Practice at Huron Consulting Group. In that role, he guided performance improvement assessments, and led implementations to improve the clinical, operational, and financial performance of physician practices. Before Huron, Mr. Masters was a Senior Healthcare Engagement Manager with Equation Consulting, where he focused on physician compensation and physician practice performance. Earlier in his career, he held faculty practice leadership roles at RWJ University Medical Group and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Mr. Masters has an M.B.A. from Suffolk University and a B.S. in Healthcare Administration from Ithaca College.
